Collaborative map of skate spots in Brazil, to check out a place before leaving home.
Check before leaving
The home screen is a map of skate spots in the visible area, with a numbered list alongside it. Search by name, neighborhood, city or state, or use Near Me.
Filter by spot type (skatepark, public park, plaza, street spot, bowl, DIY or indoor), obstacles (stairs, handrails, gaps, ledges, bowls and more), lighting, shelter and risk of being asked to leave.
It always opens with an image: community photo, licensed photo, Street View from the saved angle or map. Shows type, obstacles, floor, light, access, restrictions, description and source. It has buttons for "how to get there", send it to someone and report a problem.
Registration in four steps: position on the map, framing in Street View, peak data and up to five photos. All submissions are pending and undergo moderation.
Those who went to the peak rate it from 1 to 5 and say whether it is in good condition, in need of repair or closed.
By link (works for those who don't have an account) or directly to another user's inbox.
Invitation via link, Instagram or Facebook; conversation only between accepted friends, with peaks attached. You can block, unfriend and report a message.
Search for open photos on Wikimedia Commons and gather profiles of skate projects nominated by CBSk (Brazilian Skate Confederation).
Moderators approve or decline submissions with reason. Login via email or Google. Five goals inspired by the Tony Hawk game reward contribution, not daily use.
It is published at pico-skate-brasil.netlify.app, with 1,731 peaks in 734 municipalities. We still need to release email sending to new users, open Google login to the public and activate the Google Maps key (Google search and built-in Street View).
